The company employs approximately 3,000 people across eight manufacturing facilities and its headquarters in St. Paul, Minnesota. The manufacturing facilities are geographically dispersed, with two facilities in Canada and one each in Colorado, Texas, Georgia, Massachusetts, Minnesota, and North Carolina.

Shift Hours Monday-Thursday 3"45pm-2:30am or 4:45pm-3:30am

What are the responsibilities?
This position is responsible for overseeing a production area of between 8-16 individuals, and for producing safe and quality food following production standards on specific assignments within required time.

This position is also responsible for understanding related to Quality Management Systems including FSSC 22000, HACCP and GMP to ensure safety and quality of employees and products.

The job duties include responsibility for assuring food safety and for food quality for Dianne’s Fine Desserts products.

           
                         How do we do this?
  • Coordinate department activities within a production area to ensure department and company production is met in a timely manner.
  • Maintain tracking of daily KPI’s and communicate progress to their team utilizing hour by hour boards.
  • Promptly communicates any potential outages or shortcomings to Supervisor.
  • Create daily action plan to achieve attainment goals and “win the day”.
  • Support autonomous maintenance through use of CID and CL standards.
  • Coordinate and participate in Continuous Improvement, Safety and Quality initiatives.
  • Ensure all required departmental checks are performed as required.
  • Ensure machine operator hand off sheets are fully completed.
  • Properly track and record downtime.
  • Perform Root Cause Analysis / Investigations including but not limited to: Safety Incidents, Production Downtime, Food Safety/Quality, Food Waste issues.
  • Provide feedback for the creation of work procedures as they pertain to Safety, Quality and Productivity.
  • Promote Food Safety by following all standards.
  • Complete daily production records and reports.
  • Perform effective handoffs and communication at shift change with incoming Production Team Lead.
  • Ensure the correct inventory of supplies is present for the required jobs to be performed.
  • Must be able and willing to assume responsibility when supervisor is absent.
  • Train new employees including new Production Team Leads.
  • Ensures job rotation and breaks are done at regular intervals when necessary.
  • Must be able to operate, and in some cases assemble production equipment.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary work area.
  • Participate in the GFSI/FSSC22000 yearly audit and assist in the development of procedures & corrective actions.
  • Follow all good manufacturing practices (GMPs).
QUALIFICATIONS:  
 
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 1-2 years of Manufacturing related experience, preferably food production.
  • Bilingual English and Spanish or Somali(speaking/writing/ reading) preferred.
  • Resourceful and problem solving skills.
  • Must have reliable transportation and be able to work a flexible schedule.
  • Self-motivated individual
