We are searching for a 3rd Shift Bilingual Sanitation Supervisor to lead our Sanitation Team in Newburyport, MA, at Dianne’s Fine Desserts, a subsidiary of Dessert Holdings, during the following hours and within the following compensation range:
 
  • Sunday – Thursday
11:00 pm – 7:00 am
(Some flexibility required)
 
  • $65k - $80k (+ benefits! See below)
Status – Salary, Exempt

The Sanitation Supervisor is responsible for supervising the implementation of the Sanitation Programs throughout the manufacturing plant. This position serves as the technical liaison between the plant, Headquarters, sanitation chemical company, and third-party sanitation vendors.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
 
  • Bilingual in Spanish required.
  • Associate degree in Food Science or equivalent required.
  • Three to five (3-5) years of experience in food manufacturing or manufacturing is required.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of supervisory experience is required.
  • Certified Sanitarian or ASQ Certified Quality Engineer preferred.
  • Working knowledge of HACCP, microbiology, sanitation, chemical safety, pest control, and quality systems preferred.
  • Basic to Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) required.
  • Ability to occasionally work flexible hours required.
  • Good communication skills, hands-on attitude, assertive professional manner and good leadership skills required.
  • Understanding of compliance with government regulations relating to OHSA, FDA, USDA, and EPA preferred.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Develops, implements, maintains, and evaluates sanitation operating procedures and training that meets the requirements of the Sanitation Program.
  • Provides leadership and training for sanitation and production personnel to ensure production line and facility sanitation as required by the Master Sanitation Schedule, Daily Tasks, Maintenance Work Schedule, and Production Schedule.
  • Serves as a technical liaison between plant employees, sanitation chemical supplier, Quality Assurance, and third-party sanitation providers.
  • Creates a safe working environment for all plant employees working in sanitation; maintains chemical safety procedures and MSDS’.
  • Works with chemical supplier to provide chemical handling training to Sanitation Team.
  • Provides leadership in enhancing chemical training beyond what chemical supplier provides, and meets all requirements of our Environmental, Health, and Safety program.
  • Creates and maintains a structured, orderly chemical storage and sanitation supply area in the plant.
  • Reviews the effectiveness of the Sanitation Program on an annual basis for effectiveness.
  • Participates in the GFSI/FSC22000 yearly audit and assists in the development of procedures and corrective actions as needed.
