1st SHIFT BILINGUAL PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR

We are seeking a 1st Shift Bilingual Production Supervisor to lead our Production Team at Dianne’s Fine Desserts, a subsidiary of Dessert Holdings, in Newburyport, MA.
  • Monday – Thursday, 6:00 am – 4:30 pm
  • $65k - $75k (+ Bonus Potential and Benefits! See below)
  • Status – Salary, Exempt
The ideal candidate will not just be someone who supervises the work of others. The Production Supervisor will also be responsible for coaching, resolving issues and serving as a link between hourly associates and plant management. In addition, the Supervisor will  ensure that production processes deliver products of maximum quality in a profitable manner.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
  • High school diploma required. (A degree in a technical, engineering, or relevant field will be an advantage.)
  • Minimum of one (1) of experience in food manufacturing or manufacturing is required.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of supervisory experience is required.
  • Flexibility to work other shifts to include extended hours, weekends and holidays as needed required.
  • Ability to read and write in English and to write reports legibly and accurately required.
  • Basic to Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) required.
  • Experience using manufacturing machinery and tools required.
  • Superb leadership and problem-solving skills required.
  • Good communication skills, hands-on attitude, assertive professional manner required.
  • Understanding of compliance with government regulations relating to OHSA and FDA preferred.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Focuses on driving safety, quality and productivity.
  • Enforces strict safety guidelines and company standards.
  • Ensures employees are GFSI (Global Food Safety Initiative) trained and utilizes the training and knowledge to produce safe quality food.
  • Provides leadership and motivates others to attain high levels of employee achievement and retention.
  • Trains new employees on how to safely use machinery and follow processes/procedures.
  • Sets daily/weekly/monthly objectives and communicates them to hourly associates.
  • Prepares and presents daily direction through meetings (Huddle Meetings) for hourly associates.
  • Organizes workflow by assigning responsibilities and preparing schedules.
  • Monitors and prioritizes workflow of production to meet deadlines.
  • Checks production output according to specifications and recommends continuous improvement ideas.
  • Submits performance reports and identifies issues in efficiency, while maximizing resources.
  • Leverages continuous improvement tools to eliminate loss, optimize processes, and improve reliability.

  • Frequently required to stand, walk, stoop, crouch and climb steps.
