The Human Resource Coordinator facilitates and provides assistance with both the human resource and safety departments processes and procedures. This role contributes to the accomplishment of HR and Safety practices and objectives that will provide an employee-oriented, high performance safety culture that emphasizes empowerment, quality, productivity standards, goal attainment. This role is primarily responsible for the recruitment of a superior workforce. This is an administrative role in the HR and Safety Department.
This position requires an extremely perceptive person, who is capable of relating to individuals at all levels within the organization, treating everyone as a customer. The HR Coordinator must be sensitive to business needs, employee goodwill, and the business needs. This position is responsible for assisting with compliance with Federal EEOC, ADA, FMLA and OSHA regulations.
PRINCIPAL HR ACCOUNTBILITIES
Employment and Recruitment –review applications and resumes, interview, recommend and select applicants for hire. Conduct orientation for all newly hired employees. Ensure that staffing levels are maintained for the Factory. Maintain all employee and applicant documentation for auditing purposes.
In conjunction with HR Manager Develops, tracks and maintains marketing materials for recruiting purposes to include, but not limited to radio advertisements, newspaper advertisements, flyers and internal communications.
Participate in the GFSI/FSSC22000 yearly audit and assist in the development of procedures and corrective actions
Assists with the administration of the day-to-day operations of the HR functions and duties
Training – Track all training for the plant, working closely with EHS Manager, area managers, and supervisors to ensure that all training is completed.
Maintain employee personnel files, monitor and close out terminated employee files
Responsible for ensuring compliance: monitor and update I-9 Employment Eligibility forms; maintain files for I-9 forms; verify eligibility in E-Verify.
Maintains and updates weekly and monthly reporting for staffing, training and I-9 reporting.
General HR/employee record-keeping, Maintains Employees files
Assists with Benefit Open Enrollment
Maintain hourly employees job postings to post externally/internally when necessary
Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
Must adhere to the plant’s HACCP plans
Must be able to work flexible shifts when needed
PRINCIPAL SAFETY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Assist with operation of the Dianne’s Safety Process with the ultimate goal being to provide a safe and healthy environment for employees, contractors, and visitors.
Assist with updating and administering OSHA safety programs/plans/processes to comply with federal, state, and local regulations.
Participate in safety monthly meetings.
Provide administrative support to safety department for projects by collecting data, providing project documentation, training staff, and performing other general duties.
Provide ongoing guidance and recommendations for safety project implementation including equipment specifications/installations and facility modifications.
Assist with Updating and administer OSHA training programs/plans/processes.
Assist with Coordinating, conducting and training facility employees to effectively recognize potential hazards and recommend resources to remedy the hazards.
Assist with Training, develop, and provide direction for the Safety Teams comprised of hourly and salaried employees representing all shifts and departments.
Assist with coordinating the development of the SHARP (Safety and Health Accident Reduction Plan) and follow up with recommended actions.
Assist with Coordinating internal reports for all safety and medical concerns.
Notify appropriate supervisor and/or manager to correct employee safety concerns.
Assist with coordination, directing, and conduction investigations of all reporting of injuries, illness, near misses, and property damage of theft.
- Associates Degree, or the equivalent years of experience, plus a minimum of 2 years human resources experience or equivalent of experience
- Experience in the administration of benefits and compensation programs and other Human Resources programs is a plus
- General knowledge of employment laws and practices.
- Excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment. Must include Excel and demonstrated skills in database management and record keeping.
- Effective oral and written communication.
- Excellent interpersonal and coaching skills.
- Evidence of the practice of a high level of confidentiality.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- PHR or SPHR certification preferred but not recommended
