Training Specialist

POSITION SUMMARY - Develop and conduct training for employees to by performing the following duties

  1. Confer with management, supervisors and employees to gain knowledge of work situations requiring training and to better understand changes in policies, procedures, regulations, business initiatives and technologies.
  2. Develop, maintain and improve training matrix and cross-training matrix by position, function, department and plant.
  3. Coordinate and adhere to training schedule with the hiring and training demands of the Le Center facility and operational needs.
  4. Select or develop teaching aids such as training handbooks, demonstration models, multimedia visual aids, computer tutorials, and reference works.
  5. Conduct training sessions covering specified areas such as on-the-job training, refresher training, etc.
  6. Test trainees to measure progress and to evaluate effectiveness of training.
  7. Report to Supervisor on progress of employees during training periods.
  8. Monitor methods used by employees for and make on the spot corrections.
  9. Assist employees with problems concerning "how to" perform specific tasks related to their current role or cross-training position.
  10. Make suggestions on improving work procedures in the Le Center operation.
  11. Maintain trainee personnel records.
  12. Develop strong relationship with all departments to develop course materials and receive feedback.
  13. Responsible for the overall directions, coordination, and evaluation during training programs. Oversee company representatives, acting in the role of "training instructor" for a specific training issue or initiative.
  14. Translate training materials in a timely and professional manner.
  15.    Education and/or Experience
Previous training and product experience or one year related training experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Prior food industry experience is preferred.
Language Skills:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as technical data, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to develop and proof training materials. Ability to speak effectively in interpersonal situations and before groups of employees. Requires English and Spanish communication proficiency including verbal and written.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to apply mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical solutions.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
