                                                                                                Maintenance Technician Lead


Perform preventative maintenance procedures on plant equipment including but not limited to: all mixers, production
belts, slicers, pallet jacks, pneumatic pumps, dishwashers, etc.
            Essential functions of the job:
  • Conduct repairs and maintenance on all buildings and grounds, tools and equipment as assigned while performing as a mentor and source of guidance for Maintenance Technicians.
  • Maintain plant and equipment including but not limited to: production equipment such as mixers, depositors, spinners, belts and conveyors, dishwashers and ovens.
  • Packing equipment to include: boxers, sealers, wrappers, cutters and slicers.
  • Maintain departmental supplies and inventory.
  • Wear proper PPE for appropriate job functions.
  • Maintain a clean, safe and sanitary work area at all times.
  • Document and maintain records and audits pertinent to the maintenance department.
  • Communicate with vendors to ensure availability and prices of replacement parts and/or service
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills and experience that are necessary to perform the essential functions of this job include:
  • 1-3 years of training in maintenance related discipline (electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, welding, etc.)
  • 3-5 years experience in a bakery or other manufacturing facility.
  • Certificate in HVAC/Plumbing Systems, Maintenance electrician, Journeyman Electrician, PLC, Refrigeration Tech or 3-5 years of experience of previous history.
  • Ability to read, write and speak English.
  • Ability to become familiar with any applicable OSHA regulations (i.e. Hazard Communications, lock out- tag out, etc.)
  • Must have working knowledge of pneumatics, PLC, Servos, HVAC systems and general maintenance.
  • Possessing excellent upper and lower body strength.  Ability to do overhead lifting of 20-50 lbs.
  • Must be able to work independently.
  • Possessing normal to excellent manual dexterity and motor skills.
  • Possessing good eye-hand coordination.
  • Possessing excellent listening and comprehension skills.
  • Must be available for flexibility of scheduling (including being contacted by beeper/cell phone) when covering for Manager.
  • Ability to become familiar with HACCP programs as related to maintenance.
  • Must have basic computer skills.
  • Must have general knowledge of reading blueprints and schematics.
  • Must possess good interpersonal skills including the ability to work well with others and promote teamwork.
  • Must have strong leadership skills
  • Able to do other duties assigned
This position reports directly to the Maintenance Manager.
         High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED)
         Two to four years related experience
   Computer Skills
         Must have basic computer skills
   Certificates & Licenses
         Certificate in maintenance electrician, Journeyman electrician, PLC,
         or 3-5 years of experience
   Other Requirements
         1-3 years of training in maintenance related discipline (electrical, plumbing, metals)
Ability to become familiar with any applicable OSHA regulations (i.e. hazard communication,   lockout/tagout, etc) 
         and apply this knowledge to daily duties
         Must have general knowledge of reading blueprints and schematics
         Must be able to work independently

  • Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) (Hair net, ear plugs, boots, smock, and frequent hand washing)
  • Must wear cut resistant gloves at all times when using knives or similar tools.
  • Must wear eye protection when using air hoses.
  • Fast paced, working with manual and automated processes and equipment.Factory climate changes with the
      season and employee must dress accordingly.  Chemical handling is required for production line sanitation.
  • This plant produces and employees will be handling products that contain allergens, including, but not limited to:
      milk, soy, wheat, egg, tree nuts and peanuts.
