Production Setup Technician (1st Shift)

            Production Set-Up Technician performs preventative maintenance procedures on the equipment used in production lines. Technician reports directly to the Production Manager and the primary focus is the equipment used in their production line.

  • Participate in the GFSI/FSSC22000 yearly audit and assist in the development of procedures and corrective actions (related to packaging, bakery and icing equipment and Dec-o-mate, cake-o-matic, spot shot, transfer pump, etc)
  • Set-up and breakdown equipment as production schedule dictates.
  • Inspect and assemble clean equipment
  • Train Value Stream co-workers to setup and do minor trouble shooting of Value Stream equipment
  • Ability to train, learn and retain across a wide variety of setup processess
  • Document and maintain records and audits pertinent to the production department
  • Apply knowledge of OSHA regulations and HACCP programs to daily duties
  • Conduct audits, self-assessments, and inspections.
  • Provide ongoing guidance and recommendations for project implementation including equipment specifications/installations and facility modifications.
  • Participate in regulatory inspections.
  • Must adhere to the plant’s HACCP plans
  • Must follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s)
  • Provide administrative support for projects by collecting data, providing project documentation, training staff, and performing other general duties..
●   Assist with Coordinating, conduct and train facility employees to effectively recognize potential hazards and recommend resources to remedy the hazards.
●   Monitor Maintenance completion of safety related work relate work orders and report when assistance is needed to have immediate correction.
  1. Minimum to 6 months and or up to 2 years of manufacturing experience.
  2. Possess the ability to effectively support and communicate all factory risk management performance and reporting needs to all levels of factory and corporate employees.
  3. Possess the ability to work closely with the production manager, staff members, supervisors team leaders, hourly associates.
  4. Possess the ability and knowledge of basic mechanical skills and tools
  5. Possess normal to excellent manual dexterity and motor skills
    Education and/or Experience
    ●   Computer proficiency including Microsoft office.
    ●   Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent.
    Language Skills/Ability
    ●   Ability to read, analyze and interpret common scientific and technical skills
    ●   Ability to effectively present information to top management, salaried and hourly groups
    ·  Proven ability to read, write and communicate in English language
    ●   Bilingual preferred
    Mathematical Skills
    ●   Advance math and statics.
    ●   Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical solutions.
    ●   Ability to apply mathematical operations to such task as frequency distributing, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.
    ●        Regularly required to stand, sit, walk, for extended periods of time.
    ·      Required to lift up to 50 lbs without assistance
    ·      Must be able to reach above shoulders, climb, swuat, kneel and bend often
