Dianne's Fine Desserts, Inc. is a manufacturer of high-end frozen desserts.   We are currently seeking an experienced Production Supervisor to assist with the 2nd shift operation in Newburyport, MA

Purpose:
Manage all aspects of food preparation and packaging under the guidelines of Good Manufacturing Practices.  Oversee and monitor the performance of Second Shift Operations as it relates to quality, safety, productivity, waste control, and service to sales

Principal Accountabilities:
  • :Interact with employees, Supervisors, Shift Manager, and Production Manager on a daily basis to resolve technical problems, scheduling conflicts, equipment issues and employee concerns.  The emphasis is to open communication networks, share ideas while working toward continuous improvement
  • Manage second shift operation for compliance with GMP’s and safety procedures
  • Participate in the yearly Food Safety Audit (GFSI) and assist in the development of procedures & corrective actions
  • Conduct group meetings with second shift employees to maintain open communication, air out concerns and keep our people well informed as to the future of the operation and company
  • Manage employees in this bargaining unit in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement
  • Train hourly employees as related to their specific job function
  • Ensure that all operating procedures and standards are being adhered to at all times
  • Provide technical support to the hourly employees
  • Monitor proper utilization of all processing paperwork
  • Responsible for ensuring a safe work environment for all employees
  • Monitor JD Edwards data
  • Must actively participate in Continuous Improvement Projects
  • Ensure Visual Performance Boards are completed accurately and in timely manner
  • Ensure production schedules are met daily
  • Update, monitor, and maintain time and attendance in KRONOS for regular and temporary staff
 KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE/COMPENTENCIES: 
  • Bachelors degree preferred, High School Diploma (Minimum) 
  • Minimum of 3 years production experience in a high-speed operation
  • Minimum 2 years in a supervisory role
  • Intermediate computer skills
  • Excellent communication skills; Bi-lingual skills a plus (English/Spanish)
  • Possess positive interpersonal skills
  • Conflict Resolution experience
